Weather patterns around the world are changing. With the increase in solar production, hail predictions and the size of hail has become increasingly important to solar farm owners and operators. Hail over one inch on solar panels can be a serious problem, causing breaking or cracking, which could limit or stop output until they are repaired or replaced. While there are many weather forecast sources on the market, the majority only provide information on large, general areas and are not specific to a single solar farm. Seeing an approaching hailstorm in direct correlation to your solar farm and assets, as well as seeing which areas of the solar farm the hailstorm may hit and the hail size probability, will give you information you need to make informed decisions about your assets and team safety.
Advanced Awareness for Hail Mitigation
Using forecasts from the Storm Prediction Center, Indji Watch will display the potential threat of significant hail in real-time dashboards and also as a layer on the Indji Watch base map. These outlooks will be updated several times a day giving you new information on the growing or decreasing threat. Should the threat no longer exist, Indji Watch dashboards will display the all-clear indicator. For threats that do persist, you can easily determine which assets need to be placed on alert and keep staff at a heightened state of preparedness. These tools give you the extra time you need to set your internal hail monitoring process into action.
